UpskillCloud is what we mean when you are using your own learning platform to host content created by Upskill People e.g. from our Generic content library, or content that you have created yourself using Easy Course Builder.

We use it because it allows you to access great learning content whilst, also being able to:

  • Quickly and easily update your ECB content without having to reinstall new Scorm 1.2 courses.
  • Quickly switch off old/outdated content that should no longer be accessible.
  • Protect your intellectual property from unauthorised access.

Follow these steps to export your course once you have finalised and reviewed the content with your peers/subject matter experts.

Use Manage course details to Edit your course:

Use this to add some relevant notes:

… before downloading a copy of the course as a Scorm 1.2 zip file.

You should follow the guidance of your learning platform to import this file correctly.

Why bother creating notes?

It’ll all make sense when you go to Settings … General … UpskillCloud Content:

Another advantage of using UpskillCloud is that you can actually create multiple instances of a single course. Each time you click the Create as UpskillCloud Course option, you will create a new instance of the course and download a new Scorm 1.2 file.

This is really handy if you want to keep a single copy of your ECB course, which you maintain under strict version control, and you need to import a new course into your learning platform when the course content changes.

Then you can switch these separate instances on or off as required by pressing View:

Here you can deselect/select the Active feature, or update your notes (now that you see the benefit of completing them accurately) before updating:
